Electric Ukuleles
Most acoustic ukuleles can be plugged in with the addition of a internal pick or a cheap stick-on pickup.
This page focuses on Electric Ukuleles. These are typically solid body instruments with pickups. Either pickups in the same vein as solid body guitar pickups or a piezo under the saddle pickup.
There are a few builders and manufactures that make solid body ukuleles that look just like miniature Fender Telecaster or Gibson Lep Paul guitars.
Risa Ukulele of Germany s the leaders in production electric ukuleles.
Depending on the construction, a solid body ukulele might be able to use steal strings.

Strings
Selected Ko'olau strings are available right here on my online store. These are the strings that I use on several of my tenor ukuleles.
I really like the new 'Alohi Series and have them on my CS Contemporary Tenor from Ko'olau. I go back and forth between the 'Alohi Series and the Savarez strings that I have been using for years.
