( from listing's site ) - A native of Oxfordshire, England, Andrew worked at the Lawrence Berkeley Research Labs before deciding to follow my passion for building stringed instruments. Andrew studied at the Welsh School of Violin Making and Repair, near Cardiff. After graduating Andrew joined the restoration workshops of Bein and Fushi in Chicago to apprentice under the guidance of master cello restorer, Russell Wagner. In 1996 Andrew opened my own workshop in Santa Rosa, California , providing restoration services to the violin trade. Regular clients include some of the world's leading violin dealers. These days Andrew spends most all of my time building new instruments. My violins, violas and cellos are played by professional and amateur musicians across the US and in Europe.

This is only a partial list of the tone woods available. Given the new wave of alternative tone woods, (curly walnut [Claro], myrtlewood and African black wood, to name a few,) players have an even greater choice in tone woods than ever before.

( from listing's site ) - I joined the Navy after High School and ended up making it a career of 25.5 years. I started out in the submarine service and then was fortunate to be selected to a special Navy program and the Navy sent me to college at the University of Nebraska. I received my BS in Electrical Engineering while at the university. Following graduation, they let me fly fighter type aircraft the rest of my career. I made two tours in Viet Nam flying 238 combat missions without incident. I retired in 1985 and went to work in the Aerospace Industry and retired again from Lockheed Martin in 2001. My wife Diane and I moved to Tucson for our first shot at retirement but after three years, decided to return to my home town of Seward, NE. We moved here in July 2006, found a home in the country and are truly enjoying “The Good Life.”
