( from clubs's site ) - If lovin' uke is wrong, I don't want to be right! Steel City Ukuleles was founded in June, 2011. We meet 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 pm each month. We have a range of ages, tastes and abilities which adds interest and variety. Our "text" is The Daily Ukulele: 365 Songs, but we often use online music. We play 20s-30s uke tunes, Hawaiian, blues, Beatles and contemporary. A member volunteers to lead/moderate each session and sends out a playlist a week in advance. Sessions start with warm-ups and easy tunes, followed by tunes we want to work on. After announcements at the break, we play song circle and jam style. All levels, beginners or advanced, are welcome to come and play.
