After a brief introduction to the ukulele in 1978 by two distant uncles at a family reunion. Curt rediscover the ukulele in 2003. Finding limited material for intermediate and advanced ukulele players Curt has authored many books for ukulele players. Curt has performed and presented workshops and clinics at various ukulele festival across the USA from New York to LA.

At the age of ten, Curt started playing guitar. That moment has led him to a forty year plus career of performing, teaching and recording, culminating in the 2002 release of his debut CD, "Midnight at the Jazz Cafe". Produced by Chuck Anderson, this recording was inspired by the many artists and people that have touched his life. Just ask any of his 70 plus guitar and bass students, who study the curriculum put forth in Curt’s own series of instructional books and CDs on contemporary guitar. In the past, Curt has played with the bands Stardust, Marathon, The Rupert Wright Jazz Trio, and The Rum Runner House Band. He has also worked with the likes of Dahoud Shaw, Steve Beskrone, Bobby Boyd, and countless others, performing in such venues in a around Philadelphia at Coco Pazzo, Wyndham Franklin Plaza, The Manayunk Brewing Company, Arryo Grille, and the list goes on and on.

Curt has performed as a solo ukulele player and presented ukulele workshops at various ukulele festivals the past several years. See the ukulele listing below for more information.

In 1999, Curt started Curt Sheller Publications and has written over 20 books for guitar and ukulele.
