A long time love of mine, since childhood, has been drawing and cartooning. Never really that good at it but here are some links to a few of my favorite artists, resources and information.

Born in Spain, Aragonés had a passion for art since early childhood. As one anecdote goes, Aragonés was once left alone in a room by his parents with a box of crayons. His parents returned sometime later to find that he had covered the wall in hundreds upon hundreds of drawings.

by Scott McCloud (Paperback - Sep 1, 2006)

“If you've ever felt bad about wasting your life reading comics, then check out Scott McCloud's classic book (Undrestanding Comics) immediately. You might still feel you've wasted your life, but you'll know why, and you'll be proud.” Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons.

“BRAVO!! Your Undrestanding Comics is a landmark dissection and intellectual consideration of comics as a valid medium. Its employment of comic art as its vehicle is brilliant. Everyone...anyone interested in this literary form must read it. Every school teacher should have one.” - Will Eisner

“...one of the most insightful books (Undrestanding Comics) about designing graphic user interfaces ever written, even though it never discusses the subject directly.” - Macintosh co-creator Andy Hertzfeld

Artist Info

(from artist's site) - Mike Peters is recognized as one of our nation's most prominent cartoon artists for his outstanding work as both a political and comic strip cartoonist.  His favorite expression WHAT A HOOT certainly sums up his outlook on his life and work which are inexorably entwined.  Mike's warm, easygoing and zany demeanor is evidence that his personality matches his creative talents.  As so eloquently phrased by a colleague -- "Mike is the Peter Pan of the cartooning world; he's boyishly charming, good with a rapier and doesn't spend a lot of time on the ground.  And he doesn't seem to want to grow up".
